Friday August 17th

I can attend the 17th but can't host -- Stefan is on call and it wouldn't be very nice of me to stick him and the dog, Mia, upstairs all night while he waits by the phone. Can anyone else host that night? Does that date work?

Next Meeting??

So Annie pushed hard for Dreams of My Father so I think she should host the next meeting. Don't plan around me though. I'm in Ghana for work Aug. 3 through the 14th.

Who wants to host?
And what dates are good?

Scary, actually

I can't believe how similar your face was Renee!! Either you studied the photo for too long or perhaps a career in acting is in order! :)

Nick and Vanessa

So for those of you who made it to the beach, you got to see my impression of Nick Lachey. Check out the photos and let me know if I got it right.

Next up on the circulation desk...

Yes, one of our beach book club books is Laura Lippman book, What the Dead Know. Our second beach club book is Rise and Shine by Anna Quindlen.

Our voting determined that we'll then be reading, in this order, I believe:

* Barack Obama's first book, Dreams from My Father

* Hemingway as our classic (Was it For Whom the Bell Tolls?)

* Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger

For all those girls who *weren't* so drunk to know what was going on, is that right? Did I get the Hemingway book right?

Best Book on the Beach Winner

Is, What the Dead Know by Laura Lippman.

I cannot remember the other books because, well, I had two pomtinis before bookclub started.

Hemingway?

Mmmm, sushi.

Sooo, since our head book worm has griped that no one else is contributing to our blogity blog, I thought I'd chime in. Thanks a bunch, Ms. Linskey, for the fantastic sushi. And excellent choice, to whomever recommended Glass Castle so many months ago. It was nice to have such a wonderful book to talk about after so many iffy or icky volumes in a row!

And in case no one else is counting, only two months and two days until Beach Book Club!
